A long time in the planning, yesterday swimmers finally did laps in the Chicago River! The once-contaminated Chicago River today is the cleanest it has been in 100 years. Over the decades we've seen the return of dozens of native species of fish, river otters, beavers, tortoises, bald eagles, and yesterday...swimmers taking to the river to raise money for ALS research.
